Our Team
FOUNDER & OWNER
Michael Hendershot
Greenwich Wood Products was founded in 2002 by Michael Hendershot. Fresh out of the University of Rhode Island, Michael started Greenwich Wood Products with the intention of creating aesthetically pleasing and functional products in wood and other interesting materials. He grew up on a small horse farm in Exeter spending his days making pinewood derby cars and has always had an interest in woodworking, agriculture, forestry and other old world skills.
Identifying an unfilled niche in the New England market, Michael elected to study furniture making and woodworking techniques with acclaimed furniture makers, boat builders, and accomplished RISD graduates before launching his own line of specialty architectural wood products in 2003.
Our Amazing Team
Boris Rendon
An educated and graceful craftsman with immense talent and skills, Boris has been with the current GWP team since 2009. His knowledge and understanding of the industry is extremely comprehensive yet he strives to learn more each day. Boris has long been the keystone of the GWP team and clients and his coworkers appreciate his professionalism, competence and kindness on a daily basis.
Matt Boston
A highly intelligent rancher and valued member of GWP, Matt is a very thoughtful and important part of GWP’s team since 2013. Matt Boston has a unique knowledge of our systems and is poised to continue his growth into executive management position while honing his woodworking skills and project management capabilities. Matt is the founding member of Greenwich Wood Products’ British Fleet. He does not currently own a seaworthy vessel however.
Madison Brittingham
Madison is the gears and the oil to the GWP architectural millwork shop and his formidable woodworking talents and skills began as a table maker at Lorimer Furniture and he has progressed into an individual with many talents in the architectural wood products realm. Madison is capable of creating complicated and detailed work and his intelligence and aptitude for woodworking is very much in alignment with what GWP aims to represent. He has commandeered extremely challenging builds. Madison has helped to develop our product line and streamline integral efficiencies into our system.
Jeff Jacques
Jeff has been with GWP as an employee or a contractor for several years and is known as tough ass Jeff. Ironically, he is a fantastic diplomat and a skilled tradesman with an eye on quality and great communication.
Peter Yates
A true professional that cares about quality and execution, Pete gets it done no matter what and is willing to take on most any challenge and solve problems along the way. His experience in the field is unrivaled and he is often requested by our clients on their jobs for his knowledge, execution and experience in his craft.
Zach Thole
A talented all arounder with intelligence and resourcefulness that has a profound influence on the company in his years of service. With a mechanical and industrious background, Zach is has developed his game into a top performer in his field. He has a unique understanding of field conditions, is a favorite of many of our clients and has the grit required to get challenging jobs done. He’s the kind of guy that the young people of the world could learn something from if they were interested in learning how to get stuff done.
Luke Dolan
The second member of the British Fleet, Luke is a talented and thoughtful craftsman that does very well on GWP jobsites. He is patient, prepared, and interested in learning all he can. We’ve grown an appreciation for Luke and hope that he can continue his surge and growth into a master craftsman.
Alvaro Perez Mass
Hailing from the mountains of Guatemala, this world class ringer knows how to get things done and has the brain of an engineer and the work ethic of a WW2 Navy Seal. With a smile and gentle demeanor that will charm the most rigid clients, Alvaro gets it done every day. He is a true bad ass with a smile.
AJ Fritz
Few people in GWP history have fit in as well as AJ from the start, a critical corner puzzle piece if we have one. AJ has quickly learned the ropes at GWP and is capable of a variety of types of work and is learning about developing and building quality projects. He is a high functioning member of our team and has helped us fill a roll in the GWP shop we truly needed filled. We look forward to watching him grow and evolve into a highly experienced professional.
John Shadeck
Resilient and resourceful, considerate and intelligent, John Shadeck is one of our best customer focusted craftsmen and truly wants to do a wonderful job and is very capable of doing so. John’s skill set is widely varied and widespread and he figures out how to solve problems and has a great attitude while doing it. A true champion that goes the extra mile each and every day.
Matt Walker
Matt spearheads deliveries and is known for his driving and customer service and willingness to do what it takes to get things where they need to go. Matt is also a favorite of the GWP staff and is a critical piece in our logistical executions day in and day out.
Bronson Cousineau
For years we recruited Bronson, a real team player and a true workhorse with an appetite of a Clydesdale. He has been known for walking 50,000 steps in a day and is interested in continuing to learn all he can in the woodworking realm. Bronson excels at what he puts his mind to and we are excited to see what skills define his role as he continues to learn the trade.
Dave Bertram
David is a tenured employee that is great with clients, good on the forklift and is great in the GWP yard. He will do anything he can to help and has a great attitude and work ethic. David can be seen around the farm helping our guys and clients take care of anything that they may need. He also is Rhode Island's most famous deer hunter, and is very reluctant to share his secrets but we all remain mystified.
Dennis Ferreira
One day, all the high quality Portuguese OG's from Bristol will be retired or gone, and everyone will be worse for the wear. Dennis is a fantastic mercenary addition to our team and he really adds a lot of skill, experience and friendliness to the team. He is capable of a wide range of jobs and is excellent in his quality and execution. His big smile and great attitude make him a favorite for clients and the team.
Steve Palumbo
A pillar of excellence and strength in the history of GWP, Steve has been with GWP as an independent contractor since the early days of the company. Steve’s focus on meeting expectations and delighting clients while being a great teammate is something we all very much appreciate.
John Whiting
GWP would not be what it is without John. His skills and knowledge are exemplary and you only meet a wizard like him once in a lifetime. He set quality precedents and gets things done well and efficiently. Learn all you can from this man. Hoping he continues to grace us with the occasional clinic even in his retirement.
Will Fritz
Brick oven pizza by night, and delighting GWP clients and staff with his wit and charm by day, Will Fritz is an integral support member of GWP and also if the executive majority owner of W’s Wood Fired Mobile Pizza.
Chris Blackburn
One of the original teachers of owner Mike Hendershot, Chris is an accomplished furniture builder who attended RISD for furniture design and construction. Chris is a fantastically skilled builder who has worked with GWP over the years on specialty and historical projects. Chris and his wife reside on a homestead farm in New Gloucester, Maine.
